A longer–term placement will allow you to build stronger relationships with students and therefore give you more opportunities to share the Gospel. This time frame will also allow you to be actively involved in developing and running programs at The Centre.
We can assist in finding a Thai language teaching centre if you wish to study the language and also a TESOL course (highly recommended if you’re staying for more than six months) unless you already have this kind of qualification.
What to expect
All the benefits of the short-term placement as well as team building with our Centre staff, participation in English Camps and aiding the full-time team in developing our vision and new ministry opportunities.
What you will need
- Passport
- Visa letter from The Centre (you will apply for either a 3-month or a one-year, multi-entry, non-immigrant type B visa, depending on length of stay)
Up-to-date Tetanus shot - Hepatitis A and B shots (please consult your physician before coming to Thailand)
- A copy of your highest education qualification certificate (and of your qualification in TESOL/TEFL if you have one)
- VERY modest but cool, cotton clothing for a tropical climate
- A sense of adventure
Cost
Those coming for 1-11 months should budget about 22-30 US dollars per day per person (this is just an estimate; depending on your needs and desires, costs will fluctuate). This will cover food, housing, Visa and immigration fees, and more. Please contact The Centre as you plan the trip and we can help set a budget for you that is reasonable.
