Long-term volunteers are critical to fulfilling the vision of The Centre. A stay of one year or longer allows us to consider you for a full-time staff position. This opportunity will allow you to utilize and develop any gifting or skills you have and to enhance the longer-term work of The Centre.
We can assist in finding a Thai language teaching centre if you wish to study the language and also a TESOL course which is highly recommended unless you already have this kind of qualification.
What to expect
All the benefits of short-term and mid-term placements as well as becoming a part of the full-term team, committed to fulfilling our vision and developing new ministry opportunities. You will also have the opportunity to become a trusted friend and mentor to some students and watch God at work in their lives over a longer time. (This is SUCH a privilege!)
What you will need
- Passport
- Visa letter from The Centre (you will apply for a one-year, multi-entry, non-immigrant type B visa)
- Up-to-date Tetanus shot
- Hepatitis A and B shots (please consult your physician before coming to Thailand)
- A copy of your highest education qualification certificate (and of your qualification in TESOL/TEFL if you have one)
- VERY modest but cool, cotton clothing for a tropical climate
- A sense of adventure.
Cost
Budgets for those coming as long-term volunteers vary from person to person. Things to consider include food, housing, transportation, Visa and immigration fees, and more. The Centre will gladly assist you setting a budget that is reasonable.
