The Centre has been a home away from home for me for over a month. We started off our daily routine with praise and prayer. It was at this wonderful time that we could gather together and praise God’s Holy name, confess our sins and to intercede for others. It was also at this time that I came to God in the assurance that He was present with me, he knows my every need and His love was all around. This is empowerment to serve the students and the Thai community over here.
One of the most rewarding experiences of living in a minority situation is the experience of being loved not for what we can do but for what we are. And I always pray that I may bear my Christian witness by what I am and not simply by what I profess or preach.
The activities at the Centre have compelled me to spend a lot of time with people. By nature, I keep a very low profile and I need a lot of space. I am what you call a “lone ranger” and I must also confess that I am weak in many areas. The Centre activities; however, have compelled me to spend a lot of time with people and at times I am being thrust into the limelight. At present, I really enjoy spending time with people and leading in some of the activities here. Really, I do enjoy every minute of it now.
By the grace of God and the love showered on me by the beloved Centre’s staff and the team, I can now let go of my compulsion to be aloof and enjoy my time chatting with the students and others. This I consider is true healing for me. Praise God that I have the privilege now to claim His promise in Isaiah 41:13. “For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, “Fear not, I will help you.” To God be the Glory.
